Eight people were injured on Saturday when a UTair Mil Mi-8 transport helicopter carrying two crew and 20 passengers crashed on landing in Omsk Region, the Interior Ministry press service said.

“A Mi-8T helicopter crashed on landing at Sedelnikovo while landing. There were 20 workers on board,” press service spokeswoman Larisa Tsigal said, adding that five were hospitalized, but their life was not in danger.
It was earlier reported that three of the injured were in a serious condition.
UTair confirmed the report, adding that the crash was caused by a gust of wind.
Weather conditions at the landing site were reported to be poor.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a probe into the incident.
