NOVOSIBIRSK, July 17 (Itar-Tass) — An emergency centre was set up on an order of the Tomsk Region governor in connection with a crash between a passenger bus and a KAMAZ heavy-duty truck in the Novosibirsk Region. It is headed by Vice-Governor on security questions Yuri Sukhoplyuev.

The crash took place between an Asia Grandbird passenger bus, driving from Semipalatinsk (Kazakhstan) to Tomsk, and a KAMAZ truck on Sunday night near Novosibirsk. The bus caught fire as a result of the crash.

According to preliminary data, five people died and 11 were hospitalised (six people to the central district hospital in the city of Moshkovo, two to a medical centre-25 in Novosibirsk, two to the regional burn centre and one to a children’s hospital in Novosibirsk).

The number of passengers that were at the bus is being specified. According to preliminary data, 40 people could be there, Itar-Tass learnt at the Tomsk regional centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies. A plane is ready to bring relatives from Tomsk to Novosibirsk.
