Greece places a 1.95-bln-euro bond issue

Greece has issued a 1.95 billion euro worth of three-month government bonds with a 4.9% interest rate. The demand for these latest treasuries exceeded supply more than threefold, compared to more than fivefold for the previous bond issue. Greece, which has been severely hit by the global recession, has received a huge bailout package from the European Union.
