Kazakhstan has asked Russia to put a Kazakh cosmonaut on the nearest space flight schedule, Prime Minister Karim Maximov has told reporters. In May 2008, the Russian and Kazakh presidents agreed upon a Kazakh cosmonaut’s flight to the Russian segment of the International Space Station, but a year later, Kazakhstan cancelled the agreement, citing financial problems.
