IAEA concerned over Fukushima situation

The International Atomic Energy Agency has expressed concern in connection with a lack of information from Japanese authorities about the situation at the emergency-stricken Fukushima-1 NPP, Reuters reports.

IAEA official representative Graham Andrew pointed out that there were no data if the protective plating of reactor 1 was intact.

There is no information either about the temperature in nuclear fuel pools of reactors one, three and four.

Another representative of the Agency said at a press-conference on Tuesday that radiation emissions at the Fukushima-1 NPP are continuing but their source is unknown.
