India and Russia to open Roerich International Academy of Arts

India and Russia will open in the Kulu Valley (northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh), an International Academy of Arts named after Roerich. This decision was made by the Board of Trustees of the International Roerich Memorial Trust.

   The Academy will be established on the basis of operating under the Trust Helena Roerich Art College, where Indian students are taught art, music, singing and dancing.

  The Memorial Trust was founded in the town of Naggar in 1993. It includes the homestead where the family of the outstanding Russian artist, scientist and philosopher lived from 1929 to 1947, a picture gallery of Nicholai and Svyatoslav Roerich and the Institute of Himalayan Research URUSVATI. The estate is considered one of the unique treasures of world culture.
