Protests against nuclear energy to sweep Germany

Mass protests are to target German cities of Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich on Saturday, calling for the rejection of nuclear power. In Berlin alone, over 50 thousand people plan to participate in the actions.

Appearing before the demonstrators will be environmentalists, clergy and union representatives.

A minute’s silence will be observed in memory of victims of natural disasters in Japan. Also attending the protest actions will be famous musicians and artists.
