New US Ambassador arrives in Russia

The new US Ambassador to Russia, the author of the policy of resetting Russia-US relations, Michael McFaul, has arrived in Moscow together with his wife Donna and his sons Cole and Luke.

In the Russian capital, he has replaced John Beyrle, to become the first non-career Ambassador. He’s made a meteoric career from a researcher and political analyst to US President Barack Obama’s chief adviser on Russian and post-Soviet affairs.

The 48-year old Ambassador is also known as an expert in promoting the American way of life beyond the United States. McFaul said prior to his arrival in Moscow that his basic objective is to help Russians to better understand America.
