RIA Novosti has been awarded a prize in a business journalism competition organized by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Union of Journalists.
The Russia’s Economic Revival contest has been held in Russia since the early 1990s, when the first shoot of a market economy emerged from the debris of the disintegrating Soviet Union.
The agency was awarded for “actively covering issues related to Russia’s economic development and supporting domestic entrepreneurship.”
“We are especially pleased to receive this award in the agency’s 70th anniversary year, and we will do our best to live up to the expectations of the audience and business,” said Maksim Filimonov, the agency’s first deputy editor-in-chief.
The competition is aimed at promoting the development of business journalism in Russia and the objective coverage of business news.
