MOSCOW, August 11 (Itar-Tass) —— The MAKS aerospace show is becoming an international-class event, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Thursday at a meeting of the presidium of the government.
This year’s show will be held at the Zhukovsky airfield outside Moscow from August 16 through 21. A total of 794 companies from 40 states are expected to take part. “The aerospace show will feature the latest developments in aircraft-building, helicopter- and engine-building,” said Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov.
According to Ivanov, two hundred and eleven aircraft will perform flights within the air show. “A fifth-generation fighter will be for the first time presented in the MAKS framework, and U.S. military pilots will take part in the show, after a four-year break,” he said.
Apart from this, the show will feature the A-380 airbus and the Boeing-787 Dreamliner, he said.
“The MAKS show is becoming a good and solid event of the international class,” Putin said in conclusion.
