GORNO-ALTAISK, August 28 (Itar-Tass) — The situation in a supposed place of the drop of the Progress ferry is stable in the Choisky district, Altai Republic; there are no complications.
The monitoring of the sanitary and epidemiological situation there will continue till August 30. The control over the radiation background showed no changes: it is 10 microroengen per hour, including in the area of the village of Karakoksha, the nearest village from the possible drop place of fragments, reported the republican branch of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service of Customers Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance) in Gorno-Altaisk.
According to the department, taking into account the fact that several days passed since the drop of the launch vehicle, deterioration of the sanitary-hygienic situation is improbable. The latest investigations of the samples of soil, taken in the area of Karakoksha and of water in the Biya, Karakoksha and Sarakoksha rivers, showed absence of toxic chemical agents in samples, traces of heptyl.
A team of Rospotrebnadzor specialists continues taking samples.
The Rospotrebnadzor service works in close contact with the head doctors of the Choisky district hospital and the local hospital in Karakoksha. The monitoring of appeals to medical establishments of the Choisky district did not show any people injured in the incident. Republican medical establishments did not receive any people with acute poisoning.
