MOSCOW, May 24 (RIA Novosti) – Moscow rugby side Slava hammered their local rivals Spartak GM 53-0 on Monday night in an eight-try Russian championship match.
The hosts dominated throughout the match, scoring within a few minutes of the start and adding a second try ten minutes later, giving the visitors little respite.
Tries were scored by Denis Antonov, Andrei Bykanov, Andrei Khorokhorin (two), Sergei Dokalov, Sergei Popov, Sergei Chernyshev and Alexander Romanov, with conversions by Alexander Zhuravlev (four) and a penalty by Alexander Kapralov.
In an occasionally ill-tempered match, Slava’s Andrei Igretsov was shown the red card for a dangerous tackle at the end of the second half, and Spartak’s Timur Makharobidze spent ten minutes in the sin bin.
