A Porsche Cayenne driven by a regional deputy of the ruling United Russia party rammed three cars killing a 23-year-old student who was behind the wheel of one of them in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don early on Friday, media reported.
The Kommersant, Vedomosti and Komsomolskaya Pravda newspapers wrote that the deputy, Dmitry Ostrovenko, 38, drove his car while drunk. His Porsche pulled the student’s VAZ 2106 car several dozen meters before crashing into two other cars.
The VAZ was crushed, and rescuers had to cut the body out of the squeezed car.
The deputy has been arrested. His colleagues said he must resign regardless of the investigation results.
