United Russia garners 48% in parliament elections

United Russia party has garnered 48.5 percent in Russia’s parliamentary elections, according to exit polls released by the All-Russia Center for Public Opinion (VTsIOM) on Sunday after polling stations closed at 9:00 p.m. local time in the westernmost exclave of Kaliningrad.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) garnered 19.8 percent, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) – 11.42 percent, and A Just Russia gathered 12.8 percent of the popular vote, according to VTsIOM’s exit poll results.

The remaining three parties have not made the seven-percent barrier. Yabloko has garnered 4.17 percent, Right Cause – 1.1 percent and the Patriots of Russia 0.9 percent.

The exit poll included 250,994 eligible voters in 1,746 polling stations in 62 regions in Russia. The error margin is less than two percent, VTsIOM said.
