Window to Europe film festival opens door for debutants

MOSCOW, August 7 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has sent a congratulatory message to participants in the Russian film festival “Window to Europe” that opened in Vyborg on Sunday, the Kremlin’s press service said.

“For these years it (the festival) acquired traditions and earned its great reputation not only in Russia, but also abroad,” he said in his message. “Your film contest constantly delights visitors and brings talented works – feature films, documentaries and animated cartoons. The festival provides a good opportunity for debutants to show their talent.”

One of the most prestigious national film festivals opens in the Leningrad Region for the nineteenth time with a new film “Five Brides” by director Karen Oganesyan.

The festival is organized by the Russian European Film Association, the Ministry of Culture and the Leningrad region’s government
