The Israeli authorities will set up their Iron Dome air defence system on the Gaza Strip border to intercept missiles that HAMAS fighters keep firing on Israel, says the Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barack. Iron Dome is a state-of-the-art system that Israel has developed jointly with the United States. The system is capable of intercepting unguided Qassam missiles and rockets of Grad multiple rocket launchers that Palestinian fighters normally use in their attacks. The Iron Dome’s basic drawback is the high cost of each missile launch, which makes up 14,000 dollars.
